The Web Production (TWP) came home from the 2003 WebAward Competition with a ``Standard of Excellence Award’’ for the Website it created for Raiffeisen Bank, `Wohnen-in-Oesterreich.’
This is the first time a Russian company received distinction from the world’s most prestigious international Web awards.
``This award proves that the level of programming and design in St. Petersburg is on par with the USA and Europe,’’ said TWP President, David Mueller-Meerkatz.
Besides TWP, other award-winning companies included: I.B.M; Walt Disney Internet Group; Deutsche Bank; Verizon Online; Sports Illustrated; ABC News; Fox Home Entertainment; Google; AT&T Business Services; Forbes.com; U.S. Postal Service; American Airlines, Inc.; and GlaxoSmithKline.
The annual WebAward Competition began in 1997, and is held by The Web Marketing Association (WMA) to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development. The WMA is made up of leading Internet professionals from around the world.
WebAward entries are judged on seven criteria: Design; Innovation; Content; Technology; Interactivity; Navigation; and Ease-of-Use.
WebAward judges are prominent members of the media, advertising professionals, site designers, content providers, and webmasters.
